Willis "blue scuti" Gibson is an American classic Tetris player. Emerging from complete obscurity, he made a historic run to the semifinals, placing third overall[1] in his debut CTWC in 2023.

Prior to this tournament, his most notable accomplishment was runner-up to dog in CTL's season 22 Division 1 playoffs just a week earlier. Scuti had also yet to qualify for CTM Masters in 6 attempts, and left 2023's Mega Masters and Lone Star Championship with early exits.

He would subsequently accrue results that of an elite player following his CTWC performance, demonstrating it was anything but a fluke: winning both a Masters title and a CTWC regional in December alone, just two months later.

Trivia[edit]

  • On December 21st, 2023, blue scuti became the first person to "beat" NES Tetris, causing the game to crash by clearing a single on level 157.[2] His achievement garnered significant international attention from mainstream news outlets, and prompted the Green brothers, (fans of classic Tetris themselves) as well as co-founders of educational media company Complexly, to sponsor his Twitch livestream.[3]
