T1 is a Korean esports team operated by T1 Entertainment & Sports, a joint venture between SK Telecom and Comcast Spectacor.
History[edit]
T1 was originally founded by Lim "BoxeR" Yo-hwan as Orion in October 2002. Orion was later acquired by SK Telecom, and the name was changed to SK Telecom T1 on Apr. 13, 2004[1]. Later in 2019, the partnership between SK Telecom and Comcast Spectacor was signed in Feb. 2019[2] and the joint venture T1 Entertainment & Sports was launched in Oct. 2019[3]; the legal name of the venture is SK telecom CS T1 Co., Ltd., formed by combining the two companies' and the team's names.
